Egg Day 2012

We didn’t get many pictures of this year’s Egg Day. But then how many pictures of Jello eggs and egg bakes do we need??? LOL

Thankfully, Will did take some pictures of our Easter eggs though…

Family Flashback – Old Tucson 2000

We bought our tent trailer just a few days before Thanksgiving of 2000. So for her maiden voyage, we took a trip south to Tucson for the Thanksgiving weekend. The campgrounds close during the summer around Phoenix. (Weird!) But the weather was perfect for camping in late November!

We arrived at camp on Thanksgiving Day. I had totally prepared our turkey dinner so it would be easily cooked on a campstove. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get our camp stove to work. Instead we drove into town and had dinner at Sheri’s. A pretty late dinner…

After dinner, we all were ready for bed. Thankfully, the trailer had super comfy beds!

The next day we got the stove fixed and enjoyed our gourmet turkey dinner a bit late…

The following day, we spent the day at Old Tucson Studios. It was built in 1939 for filming westerns and was just a fun place to visit! We were just in time to see all their holiday preparations, too!

Almost immediately we ran upon this gun fight in the street. But even the “bad guy” posed for a picture with the boys! ;o)

After dark, the lights came on and everything looked so pretty and festive!

And then we knew it was time to end our day. It was the perfect ending of a perfect vacation! Sometimes I really miss that trailer… so many fun memories! 

Family Flashback- Surprise Danny & Chris

Today is our friend Danny’s birthday. Saturday is Chris’ birthday. Eleven years ago, I threw a surprise birthday party for both of them… They were late! But we had fun just the same. All the kids on the Servant Teams and the Lee family came to celebrate with us. Great times and great memories! I can’t believe the only pictures I took were of the cake…

  Happy Birthday Danny and Chris! Hope this year is just as fun!

Cannon Beach Vacation 2012

This year we went on our vacation a bit later than usual. It takes a bit of adjusting to having to work around so many schedules now. But we found a weekend and made it work…

Thankfully, Andy and Will were feeling better from being sick earlier in the week!

We spent a restful few days doing all the things we love doing when we go to Cannon Beach!

Relaxing in the room, playing games and watching movies:

Going to the gym to play battle tops, pool, carpet ball and mini golf. Oh, and having ice cream at the Coach House.

  Exploring Cannon Beach. This year we bummed around Seaside, too!

The weather wasn’t ideal. The first night a real whopper of a storm blew through and knocked out the power. But it improved enough to spend some time on the beach. Zack even did a bit of skim boarding while the rest of us played frisbee or poked around the tide pools at Haystack Rock!

Then before we headed home, we took a detour south to Tillamook for a stop at the cheese factory. Yum! As always, it was a great getaway and just what we needed to recoup a bit before heading back to real life once again!
