Disney World Day Two

Tuesday was Magic Kingdom day. What we didn't expect was that our rideshare couldn't drop us off at the gate. Instead we went to the transportation center where we chose to take the more scenic ferry ride to MK. It was probably a bit slower but the scenery was so nice and it was fun to watch the castle come closer and closer into view...

And after getting our park passes fixed at Town Hall (Guest Services) we were on our way... 

First stop: Cinderella's castle. It is beautiful inside and out!

We made it to the park!

The hallway is lined with these intricate mosaics. 

First we visited Fantasyland...

But our first ride was a new one for us: The Seven Dwarves Mine Train...

While Dumbo isn't new for us, it's always a fun ride...

The Barnstormer was another new one for us...

Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid...

Then it was time for a snack at Gaston's... 

We had The Grey Stuff cupcake and a Lafou's brew...

We tried the grey stuff. It's delicious! Don't believe me, ask the dishes... 

Then we made our way to Frontierland...

We hadn't seen Country Bear Jamboree since we were kids...

We rode Splash Mountain for what will probably be the last time before it undergoes a major theme change...

Jack Sparrow made a quick (and socially distanced) appearance... 

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin are a lot like Dumbo but on carpets... :)

The Jungle Cruise is always worth the wait. And we even heard some new jokes, cruised through a temple in Asia and said good-bye to Trader Sam...

I was also so excited that the treehouse was still The Swiss Family Treehouse! Tarzan just isn't the same... 

If I ever got stuck in Disney, this is where I'd stay... 

And look at that view! 

And a beautiful kitchen with cool running water... 

The castle is so pretty I just had to take another picture... 

Then we finally made it to Tomorrowland... We didn't get any pics but we had time to ride Star Tours, Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear. And because we were starving, we also got dinner at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.

And Main Street always is pretty at night...

We could have taken the bus or the monorail back to the transportation center but we opted to take the ferry again, which meant we got to see the light parade on the water... :) 

This next picture seems odd but it has a story behind it... 

While riding Splash Mountain, the left lens of my glasses popped out. It was amazing that it didn't get lost. There was no way to keep the lens in the frames without the screw but since I need them to see, I improvised. I took one of my new Mickey earrings apart and used it in place of a screw until we could find a more permanent solution. It worked just fine until we stumbled on a Sunglass Hut right across from The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. The sweet girl working there had just what they needed and fixed my glasses right up. :) 

Disney World Day One

 When we were trying to decide what to do for our vacation over Chris' birthday, we couldn't... Eventually we decided to go to the one fun and special place open during this stupid pandemic: Disney World! 

Leaving super early meant we got to Orlando with enough time to do something fun before going to bed. So we dropped off our bags in the room and took an Uber to the Disney World shopping and eating district: Disney Springs.

I was bummed that I forgot the camera but once we were inside, it was such a maze of stores and restaurants and people that I hardly took any pictures anyway. 

Just before going through temp check, we snapped a quick pic with the Christmas store display out back...

The Lego store had some incredible models out front but the only one I could really get close enough to for a good pic was the sea serpent out in the lake...

We quickly realized that the Disney app map wasn't going to keep us from getting lost, so we got our own map to use...

I should have taken one too, because I still got lost trying to get from the ticket office where Chris was waiting to get our park pass cards to the place we wanted to eat. Thankfully, I just wandered in a big circle and ended up back to the ticket office again... LOL

But I did get to see this cute sign...

Eventually, we got our park passes and made it to The Polite Pig for a tasty BBQ feast... 

Then it was back to our room for a good night's sleep before our first day at Disney World!
