Froehliche Weinachten

This year our family Christmas Eve theme was Germany! We had German food and even some German Christmas polka music (thanks to Theresa). Our menu consisted of fondue, lentil & split pea soups, cucumber/tomato salad, sauerbraten, brats, spaetzle, potatoes with apple & bacon, sauerkraut, applesauce, German chocolate cake and apple strudel. Yes, it was all delicious and very rich and heavy!!!

Christmas Eve 33 Christmas Eve 34As usual, there were lots of beautiful gifts, many of them were handmade or vintage. That makes them the best kind of all!!!

Family Flashback- Christmas 1997

This year we went through all our digital pics from the last 12 years for digital frames we gave as gifts. It was so fun strolling down Memory Lane that I decided to periodically do a flashback post on our blog.

So here’s our first blast from the past from Christmas 1997…

we 3 kings This was our Christmas card photo starring the three Leingang boys as a shepherd (Andy – almost 3), baby Jesus (Will- 10 months) and a wise man (Zack- 4 1/2).

Seattle Family Christmas

Yesterday was our family Christmas in Seattle. The weather was perfect for the drive, too! Which was so nice in the midst of a rainy week.

We had a great time just visiting and catching up with everyone! I enjoyed talking with the girls about crafting and cooking (two of my favorite things to talk about). It was fun for me to listen to the guys gab about movies and video games, too.

It’s fun when you realize how well people know you when you open the gifts… Everyone got stuff that they love! Will got stuff that he ADORES and all three boys are still enjoying them today!!! Can you guess what he got??? :o)
