This year’s theme for Christmas Eve??? Christmas Around the World.
We had food from all over the world!
Wassail (UK)
Mexican Hot cocoa (Mexico)
Sausages (Eastern Europe)
Pierogi (Eastern Europe)
Kubbeh (Middle East)
Pierogi casserole (Eastern Europe)
Kutya (Eastern Europe)
Lebkuchen (Germany)
Flaming Bee Hive of Enniscorthy (Irish)
Mincemeat and Cherry Tarts (UK)
Stuffed Cabbage Rolls (Eastern European)
Welsh cakes
Welsh rarebit
Meat & Potatoe Pastie
smoked salmon (Canadian)
Ris ala Mande with cherries (Danish)
Bacon & water chestnut apps (China)
I wish I had taken pictures of all the magnificent food, but we were so busy making and eating food we just didn’t have time for pictures! ;o)
Not only did we have Christmas crackers from the UK but we also had Christmas balls from China. There were little tiny toys everywhere!
Not to mention the streamers… LOL
First we had snacks and appetizers as fuel for present unwrapping.
Elsie had Christmas nails :o)
It was kind of weird to have to set gifts aside for both Grandma (she was just in too much pain to make the trip up this year) and Zack (he had to work). :o(
I love that my niece Stella was so excited about her box of Wheat Thins! She unwrapped the box and exclaimed, “We got a box of Wheat Thins!” LOL It was actually a dress-up mermaid tail I made for her…
Elsie got jewelry!
Maggie’s “Extreme Dot to Dot” book… This one went to over 1000!!! Super cool!
Stella LOVES her Pillow Pet unicorn!
Stella & Chris both loved his new chair!
Will is STILL excited about getting Legos!!!
After dinner we had Theresa’s Flaming Bee Hive of Enniscorthy! It is an awesome flaming baked Alaska that looks like a bee hive! I took pics of it baking but not of it on fire… :o( Hopefully someone did! It was pretty and delicious!
Then we hurried off to our candlelight service to celebrate the birth of our Savior, the reason we celebrate Christmas!!!
"While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:6-7
