Fencing Tournament

Saturday was Andy’s first fencing tournament with the fencing club at LCC. He participated in the foil fencing portion. He didn’t win any matches but he got to fence several times and even got his picture in the paper!!!

I took some shots, too… but none were as good as that one. :o)

Each fencer is hooked up to a system that tracks each touch of the sword to the vest they wear. The match is 3 minutes long and played to 5 points.

I don’t think Andy will get another chance to do a tournament before he graduates, but I’m glad he got the opportunity to be a part of the LCC fencing club!
