I was a bit worried on our way home from the convention in Fergus as to whether I would have time to pull off the rehearsal dinner without having to call Subway to cater. But thanks to my friends (Kate & Chad smoked a pork roast for us and it was superb!) and a supernatural gift of time management (thank you, God), it went off just the way I imagined it…
While I was busy putting up decorations, the guys set up a ping pong table with the leftover burlap table runner and some makeshift paddles (our frisbee and a dust pan). They found a ball lying around…
We got there plenty early and everything was ready when everyone arrived. The decorations looked great!
The jar and bottle were filled with all of the Bible verses I prayed over the kids during the year. When they got engaged, I wrote them a letter telling them I would pray for them every day until they got married. I printed up each verse, cut it out, curled it on a pencil and placed them in the jar & bottle for them to have.
The food was finally ready and it was time to eat…
Then it was time to practice this thing…
We probably didn’t take it as seriously as we should have, but the boys did know not to lock their knees so they wouldn’t pass out. And then William promptly faked passing out and fell to the ground. It was hilarious!
the boys are trying to decide what to do with their arms during the ceremony
the girls were doing what they were supposed to be doing (mostly)
Eventually we got down to business…
Everyone needed to practice walking down the aisle and pretending to sit/stand in their designated spot…
every groom should have a big mossy stick!
they practiced the recessional first
I even got a chance to practice… I needed it because I don’t think I could ever walk as slow as the wedding coordinator wanted me to!
Zack got to practice standing there and waiting…
Grandpa even drove the taxi down as a stand-in for the Model T for rehearsal…
It was a fun evening and by the end we were all ready for the big day!
