Why, yes. It is the Chattanooga Choo Choo. No trip to Chattanooga would be complete without a stop at the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel. Built in 1908, the station served its last passenger in 1970 and become a hotel in 1972 (a very good year).

We parked across the street and did a bit of poking around the hotel grounds…
Of course we had to take a picture next to THE choo choo…
Then we took a peek inside…
the breakfast buffet room in the conservatory
the dome inside the lobby
the lounge
front doors
Then we took a stroll along the tracks to the other rooms…
As supper time approached, it was time to choose a place to eat. The restaurant at the hotel got less than stellar reviews. The Blue Orleans, on the other hand, got raving reviews and they weren’t wrong. We shared the alligator appetizer and 5 dish sampler plate in hopes to have room for the chocolate chip bread pudding. No such luck. We were stuffed but the service was fantastic and we vowed that we would be back for dessert after a walk around. (I’m sure they’d heard that before.)
But we were true to our word and after walking off all our food, we returned to share a scrumptious bowl of warm chocolate chip bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Mmmmm!!!
If we are ever back in Chattanooga I will be having a seafood po’ boy for lunch there…
