North Shore - Day One

 For this year's anniversary trip, we only had a few days so we did a staycation and drove out to the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. We spent our first day exploring a bit of Duluth. But the first thing on our list was to grab lunch at Northern Waters Smokehaus...

After our incredible sandwich, we walked around Canal Park to check out the lift bridge, lighthouse and Park Point Beach...

They were dredging the opening of the canal...

Then it was a mid-day ice cream flight at Love Creamery. Good, but not Lundy's...

Then it was 4:00 and the beginning of Happy Hour at Vikre Distilling, where the lefse chips and drinks were incredible! 

By this time we were so stuffed that we drove out to Enger Tower/Park. Unfortunately we missed sunset and it was getting rather dark...

Chris had grading to do and we were pretty beat, so we just checked into our hotel and chilled for the evening...
