Honolulu – Part 2

After hiking Diamond Head, we parked the car at the zoo, paid for 7 hours of parking, loaded up the backpack and headed into Waikiki…

 I know there are lots of pictures of trees! But I thought they were so cool!

First impressions??? Crowded, LOTS of tourists, big city, ABC stores EVERYWHERE…

The beach was nice but it was also right in town and right next to the busy street. So not like the other beaches we’d been to.

The first place I wanted to go was the Royal Hawaiian. My dad went there when he was stopped there during Vietnam. He said the fountain in the lobby flowed with pineapple juice!

On the way, we got a bit distracted…

After all the hiking we were hungry. So we ducked into the International Market for a bite to eat at the food court.

The closer we got to the Royal Hawaiian, the nicer the stores got. Or should I say, more expensive???

Sorry Zack! We couldn’t get you anything there. :o(

It was a lot further than we thought but we did make it there eventually… It doesn’t have pineapple juice fountains anymore. :o(
