For the first time since arriving on the island, we woke up to rain. A supposed normal occurrence, but we didn’t see it until it was almost time to leave…
Sunday was our last full day in Hawaii… We still hadn’t bought any souvenirs, so we went to THE place for souvenir shopping on the island: the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium!
No pictures, we were too busy shopping! :o)
We didn’t get any pictures but we got lots of great bargains!!!
After church we met the Osbornes at an Italian restaurant for lunch and a quick change into our swimsuits in the bathroom. Somehow in Hawaii it didn’t seem strange at all… ;o)
Then we headed to the resort community of Ko’Olina. All of the snobbiest and most expensive resorts are all there, including Disney. They built 5 lagoons for swimming and snorkeling there. But since all of the beaches in Hawaii are public, we got to enjoy them, too!
First we went snorkeling at Lagoon Zero… there were super cool and colorful fish everywhere! Not to mention the turtles! It’s so awesome to swim with big ol’ sea turtles!!!
The sun was starting to set so we made the walk back to the cars and quickly drove over to Lagoon Three for frozen mai tais on the beach while watching the sunset…
When I pictured Hawaii in my head, Ko’Olina is precisely how I saw it… It was the perfect ending to a perfect vacation!
It was pretty dark on the walk back to the cars but still gorgeous!
It was so hard to leave Hawaii and this day didn’t make it any easier…
But we will be back again someday!
