Our flight home was really late. That meant we had time to kill. We checked out of the hotel (they kept our bags for us) and went to the Disneyland Hotel. We hadn't been there since the first time we went back in 1995. We checked out the lobby of the convention center and did a bit on shopping.
But it just wasn't the same. No more water shows or remote control boats. On the other hand, we made our very favorite new discovery: Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar!
I heard people talking about it on our first day in the park. Apparently it is impossible to get a reservation and there were certainly not any the entire week we were there. But we decided to try the walk-up list as soon as they opened. Guess what? It worked! We only waited about 20 minutes and we got a coveted inside table!
As soon as we walked in, we knew why... What a fun place! The drinks are strong but not too sweet. The food is delicious! And every so often the squall blows through or a volcano erupts: the room goes dark, sound effects resume, and "rain" courtesy of a very animated bar tender. So much fun!
The decor is fantastic! We even took pictures of the bathroom... :)
Since our new souvenir cups weren't enough we went next door the Tangaroa Terrace next door for a Jungle Cruise boat of Dole Whip!
Even the furniture on the terrace was amazing!
In order to get our cheaper Uber, we left early for the airport. Just after going through security, we got the text that our flight was delayed due to super cold weather in Bellingham. After our bus ride to the terminal, we learned that even airports punish you with no frills when you fly Allegiant. There was absolutely no food to be had in the entire place except for a few vending machines. Thankfully LAX has a food delivery service. So once the flight to Boise left and we were all alone for a couple of hours, we enjoyed our first ever food delivery...
Our old friend, an Uber Eats driver, Nate braved the cold and late hour and picked us up. And while it was cold in Anaheim it was even colder back home...
