Celebrating Our Freedom

It was kind of weird to be celebrating the 4th of July without family, or Charlie's birthday, or fireworks this year. Being at Bible Camp definately made it different. But there were lots of things to do and the board worked really hard to make it a special celebration of Independance Day.

The day started out with an old fashioned flag raising at 7:30am.
Later Andy did the high ropes course again, Chris and I went on the zip line with Ian.
William was the "king of the obstacle course" despite being injured in the process.
Will let Pete, his couselor, get a head start
but Will caught up fast
waiting for Pete at the other end
(he eventually came out with a bloody head)
Will was going so fast that he hit himself in the mouth
with his knee and his lip started to swell
so we got an Otter Pop to reduce the swelling
(it didn't get much bigger but it did turn really purple)
Chris played in the Marrieds vs Singles softball game (and lost).
Zack and Andy played LOTS of soccer!
There were also bouncy houses, train rides, camp activities, yard games, and a BBQ supper.

the train rides around camp were great for when you
were feeling very hot and tired

At the end of the day, we all headed down to W Bar B for the outdoor evening service and to watch the fireworks over the bay.

All in all it was a really fun day!

Home Away From Home

After Ada's party, we went into Beaverton and bought a new travel trailer. We spent lots of time searching and looking at different trailers on Craigslist but decided that this was the one for us...

Like most 38 year olds, she has her issues and needs some work but will make a great winter project for Chris and the boys! And I am having so much fun thinking about all the great ways to decorate: new curtains, new upholstry, new hardware....

Ada's First Birthday

Ada's first birthday party was at Riverside park this year. The weather was perfect for it! Lots of people came to help her celebrate and brought LOTS of presents! The best part was that Ada enjoyed herself, too! We think being outside (which she loves) helped her not to feel too overwhelmed.
