Cookie Construction

The boys and I got to go to our friends' house this year and make gingerbread houses with them. They do it every year, but this was our first.

It was a lot of work, a lot of mess, but a lot of fun! And they turned out great! Best of all, they all survived the 45 minute drive back home!

first step is construction

next comes the decorating and eating of
building materials

then comes trying on the beautiful
Christmas dress that Grandma made

all finished!

Will's house with a snowman out front

Andy's house

To make the day even more fun, the boys spent the night with Ian and Chris and I went on a date!

Those look absolutely great guys! I see some good use of cereal, rock candy, and tootsie rolls. Are you going to eat them?

I have always wanted to do houses with the girls but it seems like so much work. I evenhave gingerbread molds, and I have not done it.
