Storm Drains and Swimming Pools

Now that VBS is over and it was the first Monday off Chris has had in weeks, so we had lots of stuff we needed to do.

First, we did our Servant Week project (Servant Week was actually back at the beginning of June) of putting "no dumping" markers on the storm drains by our house. Fortunately, God gave us beautiful sunny weather for our task. Unfortunately, we live halfway up a really big hill!

we also had a gorgeous view
When we got back from saving our rivers and streams from polluters, we put up our new pool. We got a new used pool last night on our way home from the party. It had several holes, but we patched them all and are hoping it will hold water. It's quite a bit bigger than our last pool and the boys are pretty excited to get it filled! Now we'll have to have a pool party!!!

Frank's 30th

My brother turned 30 this weekend, so we got to go down to my parents' to celebrate.

It was so fun to see everybody, especially Ada. But we also got to see my brother's best friend Loren. We hadn't seen him in about a year and it was good to see him again, too.

The weather was perfect and we had lots of fun, as usual!

VBS Day 5

It was the last day of VBS. We had a fun closing program with all the families and enjoyed eating ice cream and visiting with one another. It was the best VBS we've had yet since we've been here and the GREATEST group of kids ever!

we all got to wear the tye-dye shirts we made on
Monday and they all looked terrific!

Now, we're ready to relax for a bit before summer is over.

Funny Photos

My sister did some of these pictures of the boys and they were so funny we decided to try it for ourselves. It's at photofunia.com. They are really easy to do, too.

VBS Day Two

Another busy fun day down on "the farm" learning about joy, making pigs, eating mini pizzas and lots more. And we had new kids to join in on the fun.
