The January Birthday Party

Some of my best memories of growing up were the giant birthday parties we had with my family. We would have a few big birthday parties a year and celebrate everyone's birthdays that were close together.

January is a big month for the extended Rohrer family. Andy, Will, Theresa (my sister), Amy (my sister), my aunt Nancy, Sam (my cousin's wife), and Keith (my cousin's husband) all have birthdays in January. It also ended up being our Christmas get-together since the weather messed up our last one.

yes, 7 people can blow out candles on one cake

everybody was excited to see Santa (even in January)

especially since he had presents for everyone

thanks Santa!

Ada liked the paper best

It was so fun to get together and see everyone again and see how all the little ones are getting big so fast!

Ada is sitting up!

Ruby just got up from her nap

she loved playing the upside-down game

everybody loved watching Looney Toons

Will built a huge tower

We also got to check out how the flooding changed the creek property! There was a lot of water, but now we have a lot less clean up to do. The water just took all the debris right on downriver! Yeah! We can't wait to go camping down there this summer! Ahhh, summer...

the creek cleared out the perfect camping spot

we'll have to make a new swimming hole

the creek washed that stick into that tree just 10 days before!

playing in the creek will be more fun when it's warm

This year we all went together and bought Andy a set of drums for his 14th birthday. He's wanted to learn drums for a long time, so we decided to do it. After all, it's a nice addition to our family band. Maybe we should have thrown 5 sets of earplugs into the box, too. LOL
Charlie really liked the drums
all set up and ready to play
(where are those earplugs?) Just kidding Andy, you sound pretty good already!

We also gave Will one of his birthday presents early, mainly because I couldn't wait to give it to him and Theresa wanted to see it. We got him a Snuggie! If you don't know what a Snuggie is, you have to check out this out..

As you can see, he had to have one. If you know Will, you know why. :o) After watching this on Theresa's blog, Will thought of tons of great things he could do if he had a Snuggie! When Chris and I were out on our date the Walgreen's reader board had Snuggie's for $14.99. Of course we HAD to get one! It even came with the reading light!!!

Not only did Will love it, but everyone else did too. Many took turns trying on the Snuggie to see if they wanted one. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot more Snuggies sold in the next few weeks. They are surprisingly comfortable and maneuverable! LOL

Mitzi in the Snuggie (we had to get it
off Chris so she could try it too)

I had to take my turn

I can't wait until the next birthday party in March!

It really was a fun party wasn't it. The Snuggie is hilarious, but I don't think I'll be wanting one... I can't believe you joined the Sunggie cult!

I was wondering if the Snuggie is as good as the commercials make them out to be.
