January Birthdays

We have four birthdays in just our immediate family in January: Andy, Amy, Theresa, and Will. So we try to have a big joint party once in the month. It’s actually kind of fun to share your birthday!

Yesterday was the Pastor’s lunch in Wilsonville, so we all headed down to Portland to deliver Chris to Steve to head to lunch and the boys and I to Barnes & Noble and Guitar Center.

First we hit the Barnes & Noble to spend the boys’ gift cards from Christmas. They got all kinds of cool stuff including Settlers of Catan, a Lego set, David Crowder’s “Church Music”, the complete set of Focus on the Family’s “Chronicles of Narnia” on cd, and 3 dvds (“Star Trek”, “Up”, & “The Incredibles”)!

Then we went to Guitar Center, our newest favorite place to spend lots of money! LOL Andy has been saving up and walked out with 4 new cymbals and 3 new stands. It was so fun to see him so excited!!!

After dropping the boys off with Grandpa to spend the afternoon watching “The Incredibles”, the girls all headed to Fubonn oriental supermarket. I love that place!!! Like Theresa says, “It's like going to another country without leaving my city. It even SMELLS like another country!” LOL  I always get the coolest stuff there! Some we love and have to get again, and some stuff… Well, let’s just say we don’t get it the next time. :o)  And I always learn something new. Like cocopandan is coconut and pandan leaf flavoring and makes really yummy bubble tea! This trip Theresa and I splurged on some stuff from the deli to split. So far we’ve only tried the pink sweet rice, but it was ok. We’ll have to see what we think of the sticky banana cakes wrapped in a leaf and the gelatinous green mung bean thing packed in a plastic pillow pack???

While Mom and Theresa headed to New Seasons, Amy, the kids and I went to Super JoAnn’s!!! And of course, I found fabric that I had to have and Amy had a coupon, so that made the decision much easier.

As usual, the party was lots of fun! It’s great to see everybody again! We talked about chickens and pigs and babies and all that other stuff that we love! There was also good food, fun presents and yummy cakes! The lemon cake was especially good!

Happy Birthday to all! We jump into the new year with some bdays in our extended family too- It's different than it used to be though, we don't have the get togethers for bdays anymore. So you have a house full of teen age boys now!!! Chad saw the pics of Will's hand, he of course wanted to see it in action.

Starting today, Lars and a few others, are organizing "Service Saturday" once a month. Providing an opportunity for the youth to serve folks out in the community. The boys are going to particpate in that today. We are excited about this opportunity.

Kevin: Freaky.

Family: FABULOUS! It's great that you have a good relationship with your sisters.

We have three January birthdays, and TWO of those are ONE DAY apart! I don't think Lucie will mind having her 1st birthday in February!

Happy birthday to all of your Knights!

Russell has a Barnes and Noble gift card too......I've never been so I didn't know they had all of that stuff there.

I do love birthdays!
