Independence Day

Bible Camp ended this year on the 4th of July, which meant we missed Charlie’s birthday party again this year. But we did get to go down to my parents’ place for supper and, of course, FIREWORKS!

4th of July 05 thankfully we still got to see Charlie’s tattoos from his pirate party

It was fun spending time with family… and doing FIREWORKS! Fireworks around our family start well before dark.

4th of July 064th of July 074th of July 09This year’s 4th of July adventure included a firecracker going off in Will’s hand. It had a VERY short fuse! It hurt a LOT, and there were some tears but it did far less damage than I expected (thankfully). And it didn’t seem to deter him much…

4th of July 10I was sad we didn’t get to contribute to this year’s fireworks extravaganza, but we had plenty! But I did miss getting to go to the fireworks stand and gawk at all the cool stuff and figure out what gives us the most “bang for our buck”! :o(

4th of July 114th of July 124th of July 13      it was a bit chilly that night (it only got to about 64 but was 98 three days later!)

After the fountain finale, we ended the evening like we end every 4th of July… with sparklers!!!

4th of July 21We thought the cauldron (aka the firepit) would work great for lighting sparklers, but what you really need is a blowtorch…

4th of July 20

Wait, there he is!

After a long day’s drive and a late night of pyrotechnics, we hopped into the trailer and slept…

Wow! you made it on time! You had such a long drive- Our house was 63f inside when we got home, that's close to "do we light a fire or the furnace" temp- How silly to HAVE to wear a Norwegian sweater on the 4th of July, it almost looks like New Years instead! See you soon!
