We finally had real summer weather for this month’s Sisters Day. With a high of 98, we opted for a quick lunch at the Waffle Window and a few shops on Hawthorne before heading down for swimming in Deep Creek.
If you are ever in Portland (or live there) you have to go to the Waffle Window. The waffles are perfect and they have many delicious savory and sweet choices. We chose the 3 B’s (pepper bacon, brie, fresh basil with a touch of peach jam), the Razzle Dazzle and the Nutella with Fresh Banana. My favs were they 3 B’s and Nutella/banana. But eventually I want to try them all!
After waffles, we wandered down to a very fun toy shop and then stopped at Trader Joe’s and Limbo to check out the Wall of Herbs. They have over 700 jars of dried herbs, teas, spices, blends, just about everything you could imagine! Next time, I’ll have to bring a list…
By the afternoon, it was HOT and definitely time to head to the creek. Amy, Ada, Frank, Zack, Andy, Will, and Theresa came along to join in the fun! Greg came along later and brought pizza! The water was so cool and refreshing and the boys made lots of dams and pools and a water slide for extra fun!
the boys helped Grandpa by hosing down his new rock chimney
Zack heading down the water slide
I totally need a swimsuit like Ada’s! LOL
despite the sign, we all opted to wear suits :o)
Stella was so NOT happy in her playpen
next time we’re having crawfish instead of pizza…
Frank on the water slide
I figured if Frank could do it, so could I…
the kids preferred a little tamer ride on the air mattress
oranges made Stella a bit happier
It was a terrific day! The only thing missing was Chris and Grandpa and Grandma… :o(

Huh, funny how the babies aren't so fond of their little pens...Looks like a terrific way to spend a 98f day!
