Christmas Light Quest

This year’s annual Christmas Light outing was dubbed a quest by Andy and I think it is a fitting name. We printed up a copy of The Daily News’ map, grabbed some cocoa and Christmas cookies and headed out on our quest to find the brightest and best lights in Longview…

We saw quite a range of displays from simple to gaudy to eclectic to obnoxious and non-existent. Some had a whole lot of lights, others had tons of inflatables of all kinds, some had a bit of everything and some even had music over their own FM frequency. (Zack wants to do that next year…)

You can see some of the Christmas lights in our 2010 “album of lights and wonder”… (I thought that made it sound more intriguing)

lights 05 lights 01 lights 02 lights 03 lights 04 lights 11 lights 06 lights 07 lights 08 lights 09 lights 10lights 29 lights 15 lights 16 lights 17 lights 18 lights 19 lights 20 lights 21 lights 22 lights 23  lights 25 lights 26 lights 27 lights 28

But when it was all said and done, I still like our lights the best! And we even have a musical light show… Way to go Zack!!!

I think I'm liking the red/white combos this year... I'm not much for driving around just to look at Christmas lights, I'm too practical....I can appreciate the creativity and time folks pu into their displays though... However, my husband loves doing it....so, tonight, we are going to go lookin' at some lights.

Side note: I bought an ornament this year that is almost identical to the white cut out of the nativity- I would like one of those in my yard!!
