Froehliche Weinachten

This year our family Christmas Eve theme was Germany! We had German food and even some German Christmas polka music (thanks to Theresa). Our menu consisted of fondue, lentil & split pea soups, cucumber/tomato salad, sauerbraten, brats, spaetzle, potatoes with apple & bacon, sauerkraut, applesauce, German chocolate cake and apple strudel. Yes, it was all delicious and very rich and heavy!!!

Christmas Eve 33 Christmas Eve 34As usual, there were lots of beautiful gifts, many of them were handmade or vintage. That makes them the best kind of all!!!

When we were all sufficiently stuffed, we packed everything up and headed to church for our candlelight service. The best gift of all was to have our whole family there to celebrate the Savior’s birth with us!

Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!!! Thank You for the greatest gift of all!
