This year our family Christmas Eve theme was Germany! We had German food and even some German Christmas polka music (thanks to Theresa). Our menu consisted of fondue, lentil & split pea soups, cucumber/tomato salad, sauerbraten, brats, spaetzle, potatoes with apple & bacon, sauerkraut, applesauce, German chocolate cake and apple strudel. Yes, it was all delicious and very rich and heavy!!!
As usual, there were lots of beautiful gifts, many of them were handmade or vintage. That makes them the best kind of all!!!
Not waiting any more
Ada helped her mom and dad with their gifts
Grandma got Maggie her American Girl accessories
All of Theresa’s gifts were wrapped with a whimsical gnome theme
Charlie got a whole vintage cowboy costume
It’s a good thing Dad was there to help Charlie learn how to shoot his gun! :o)

After supper we all settled in to play games, visit or play with our new stuff…
Getting ready to play Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots!
When we were all sufficiently stuffed, we packed everything up and headed to church for our candlelight service. The best gift of all was to have our whole family there to celebrate the Savior’s birth with us!
