The summer of 2004 we served the church in Rolette, North Dakota. It was a great church and a fantastic introduction into the ministry for our family! The people were so supportive and we loved small-town living! But I have to admit that it did take a bit of getting used to everyone knowing you and watching what you did and where you shopped… Living in the parsonage on main street didn’t help! :o)
Lonnie let all the boys ride on Dancer
Picking rhubarb with Carolyn (why can’t my rhubarb look like that???)
Volleyball at the church picnic
We also got to do a bit of sightseeing and explore what northern North Dakota had to offer…
Camping at the lake
But the best part of summer in North Dakota was the 4th of July! We were in the land of everything-is-legal fireworks! It was like I had died and gone to heaven!!!
We did do other things on the 4th, too. Like do the parade and festival in Rolla…
The boys even did the kiddie tractor pull…
After dark we put on quite the fireworks show at the parsonage! People even stopped to watch our show!
