Uncle Dennis came for one night while we were at the beach. After watching the sunset at Otter Crest, we drove over to the Devil’s Punchbowl.
We’d only ever been there at high tide but Dennis was all excited about going at low tide again in the morning and doing a bit of exploring in the Punchbowl.
So we woke up bright and early, hopped in the car, stopped for coffee on the way out of town and made our way to the park.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful day! The sun was out, the sky was blue and there wasn’t a breath of wind! The tide was low and we were able to explore the beach, the punchbowl and the tide pools without getting too wet…

the crow was looking down

we got wet taking this shot (a sneaker wave came in)
poking around the caves in the back of the bowl
That afternoon we went back to see what it looked like at high tide…
you’d get a whole lot wetter now!
The whole beach was under water! I stood on those rocks in the picture above! What a difference!
Thanks for taking us down there, Uncle Dennis! It really was a fun trip!
