Leavenworth – Days 3 & 4

Once again we awoke expected the predicted deluge and instead woke to find this view off our balcony…

Leavenworth 30 Leavenworth 29It was so warm and lovely, that I didn’t even wear a coat while spending the day leisurely wandering through the remainder of the shops in town. We also had a nice quiet lunch and the sausage garden (the mustard was so fantastic that we immediately went back to the sausage shop and bought some) and did a couple of wine tastings. It was so hard to choose but we brought home two bottles of brilliant sangrias. Is it summer yet??? ;o)

Leavenworth 32we took a picture of these for William, our The Office junkie

We had a few hours to kill before dinner in the crock pot was going to be ready, so we walked to the museum at the end of town and learned a bit of the history of the area.

The fog settled in a bit in the evening on our after-dinner walk…

Leavenworth 34  Then the next day it was time to go home. We checked all the pass conditions and decided to head south to White Pass which was bare and wet. Whew!

On the way home, we stopped at the Aplets and Cotlets factory in Cashmere and picked up a few things… and I only bought things that were on sale. A whole bag of things! ;o)

Well, it was bare and wet until we got there… It was snowing like gang busters and the plows were already at work! Thankfully, it didn’t last too long and Chris is great at driving in the snow!

Leavenworth 38 the reservoir on Hwy 12 was frozen!
