Chris and I had such a busy travel summer that left Andy and Will home alone most of the time. So I drug them out of the house and down to the creek to go camping for the week…
We did all the usual things: swimming in the creek, reading, playing games, tubing down the river, making s’mores…
And we did some new things: play on the zip line, have movie nights before bed…
Then on the hottest day of the week, we took a hike straight up a mountain to a fire lookout. It was quite the climb! More than once I offered Andy and Will a way out, but we persevered despite the heat and Andy getting stung (it gave us an excuse to use Will’s venom extractor) and made it to the top! Some spots I thought I would have to slide down on my bum because they were so steep! While it was exhausting going up, it was hard on the legs going down!

What a great week! Can’t wait to go camping again next year…
