Alaska - Day Thirty-One: 7,812.3 miles to Williams Lake, BC

Once again, saying you bought a new truck in Alaska because you were hit by a moose is a real conversation starter and question stopper at the border. The poor people behind us in line had to wait while the officer wanted to tell her story about how she was in an accident while traveling in England. :)

Bear Glacier was so much more blue in the morning!

Battle Hill NHS was closed the first time we went by in June but was open this time. This hill was used at a defensive location and a fortified village by the Gitwangak people. Raids on neighboring villages were launched from here. Retaliation was not successful as their victimized raiders would be met with large rocks or logs covered in spikes being rolled down upon them...

Stopped to watch some guys fishing in the falls at Moricetown Canyon outside of Smithers on the Yellowhead Highway...

A&W is super popular in British Columbia, so we stopped at the one in Houston for lunch...

Then we decided we needed some Tim Horton's for dessert in Vanderhoof. Stopped for gas in Prince George.

For our final night on the road, we stayed at the Ramada Inn in Williams Lake for a good night's sleep. It was hard enough to get used to it getting dark at all much less getting dark around 9:00!
