China: Day Thirteen - Chengdu to Beijing

Packed up and left for the airport right after breakfast. While it wasn't a fancy breakfast or dining room, the food was always good and I kind of liked having hot Tang to drink in the morning... :)

Joel and Liz came with our driver to say goodbye at the hotel before we left. It was totally worth the extra money to hire a driver!

Once again the air traffic control had issues in Chengdu. We boarded over an hour late and then sat in the plane nearly two hours!

It was not the best of flights even after taking off but getting our luggage was quick and easy and Mr. Luo was there waiting to pick us up. It was so nice to see a helpful, smiling face. Especially after our previous airport taxi experiences.

The Best Western was on the other side of Beijing and took nearly an hour to get to. But the desk clerk spoke English, so... :)

We got settled into the room, my "cot" was delivered (more like a very comfy fold-away bed), and we set off down the street to find a place to eat.

After dinner we returned to the hotel and enjoyed our complimentary beers and peanuts.

Oh, and we checked out the pool before heading to bed...
