Winthrop Days 1-3

Traditionally we have gone on some kind of vacation the week of our anniversary. This year for our 28th we went camping for the week in Winthrop, Washington. Everybody here loves to go there, so we figured we should check it out for ourselves...

The drive out there along the North Cascades Scenic Highway is GORGEOUS!

We camped at Pearrygin Lake State Park. The lake and trees around the camp were so pretty...

The weather was so beautiful, temps in the mid-80s, so we just hung around camp and the town. We wandered through the shops, parks, the local museum, got ice cream, went out for beers and enjoyed time on the lake.

Homestream Park on the Methow River had nice views of the river and very detailed sculptures...

We learned a lot about Winthrop's history at the Shafer Historical Museum...

There are so many fun shops and eating establishments in Winthrop...

Beers at the Old Schoolhouse Brewery...

The weather was just too nice to not enjoy some time on the water. We took the kayak out and explored the group camp at the end of the lake and the swimming area at the East Campground...

I also got to enjoy some time floating on the lake and swimming with the otters... :)
