By the time we reached the cabin, the snow had stopped and the ground was clear. But we woke up to this...
And then to add to the excitement, about an hour or so after we got up, the power went out. With temps at about 23 degrees we were a bit nervous until we remembered there was gas heat. Whew! But thankfully, it was our for less than an hour...
However it did mean we spent our second day in the tiny town of Alton, Utah. And there isn't much to do or see in Alton, Utah. But the sun came out and the snow started to melt by the afternoon so we took a muddy stroll around town...
Guess that means stop in Alton LOL
You know you're in a small town when the post office is
someone's house :)
By late afternoon the snow had really melted and I was already getting cabin fever. So we drove into the next town and got some tasty treats from the German bakery. And because it was so close to closing time, we got the "buy one get two free" deal! 😋
We'd already eaten the warm one by the time I took this pic 😝
The crazy part was that not that far from where we were staying you could hardly tell it had snowed at all...
We ended our uncharacteristically quiet day with our microwave dinners followed by a couple of hands of cribbage and a movie (The Courier).
