North Shore - Day Four

Jay and Amy suggested visiting the Glensheen Mansion in Duluth. So we bought tickets, at breakfast at the Quik Trip by our hotel and went to do the tour.

Built by the Congdon family in 1905-09 for $845,000 (~$30 million today) on a 12-acre estate on the shores of Lake Superior. It has 32,000 sq ft (20,000 livable space), 39 rooms, 10 bathrooms and 15 fireplaces. It is quite the house with amazing details and innovations for the day! It was donated to the University of Minnesota in 1977 after the youngest surviving daughter, Elizabeth, was murdered along with her nurse!

God even held off the rain until we had finished exploring the grounds!

We had such a big, delicious lunch at OMC Smokehouse that we didn't even eat dinner after our 5 hour drive home!
