Quiet On The Set

Today the boys went on location to help with the making of their friend Danny's movie. Danny is only 15 years old and is writing, filming, directing, and producing this movie himself. All of his actors and helpers are all under 18. He is hoping to enter this film in a local film festival and will be showing it at the local theatre pub. Danny is an amazing kid and is doing a really great job with the gifts that God has given him!

Most of what Zack and Andy did today was grunt work, but they also have small acting parts. Today was pretty hard work, but they had a great time anyway! It's one of those amazing opportunities we get to have as a homeschooling family!

getting things ready

maybe getting that shot over the water wasn't
such a good idea after all
(he decided not to risk it)
Good decision Danny!

getting ready for the truck scenes
Kassie is getting a "driving" lesson
(she couldn't actually drive the truck so...)

they actually couldn't have that many guys
pushing the truck (it just doesn't seem as realistic)

it's easier to push when the brakes aren't on :o)
remember to keep down boys!

it also goes better if your door will open

heading out to film down the road a bit

the road
Danny is ready for the shots of inside the truck
I wonder what the people driving by thought:
lots of teenage boys pushing a running truck with
another teenage boy strapped to the hood with a
camera and another running down the road carrying
numerous firearms

when you get done with a shoot
you have to go back for the next one

when the truck starts rolling you'd
better get out of the way

Barb and I loved this one!
don't forget to get some fresh air boys!

thanks for the jump Ken!

thanks for the beautiful weather God!
isn't the mountain beautiful?
this one I just took because I loved the car
(I am a sucker for old cars)

It looks like you guys had a great time. You'll have to post the movie when it's finished.

What a fun and new experience! I hope the movie turns out as planned.

My computer takes forever to load photos, if it does at all. So I was wondering what the flooding did to the parks around Lake Sacagawea. We love that area. I'm sorry the flooding was so bad. Astoria did just fine, as far as I know. South of Seaside was closed but it closes often because there is a low area of the highway and floods often. And we knew Highway 30 was closed in Clatskanie. I hope this dry weather has helped the flooded areas.

Anyway, I hope Andy enjoys his drums - you are brave! My son, Alec, has talked about drums but we got him a guitar instead - he seems to like it but, like most kids, he has to be motivated to practice.

I like that red car, too. Very nice.

Take care,
Kate
