My Aunt Kackie

Yesterday was my Great Aunt Kackie’s funeral in Portland. It was a lovely sunny day for the service and it is always nice to see family again, especially those you haven’t seen in years.

But my favorite part was looking through her old photo albums with my sisters afterwards. There were so many fun pictures of when she was young! I hope to someday get to scan some of them into my computer so we can have them to save and share.

I did find some of her and I when I was little and of her and the boys when they were little… Fun memories!

My other memories of Aunt Kackie are of visiting her in CA, or when she would come up to visit us. She always gave us birthday or Christmas presents from Nordstrom’s or send cards with money in them. She worked for Hewlett Packard for years. I remember when she gave Grandpa Ide a really fancy HP calculator that had so many buttons on it that I’m not sure Grandpa ever used it. :o)

After she moved up to Portland, she would take the boys to McDonald’s for their birthday lunches.

I am so glad we got a chance to go and see her just about a month before she passed and visit and reminisce with her. She will be missed!

Well then you're in luck! I took those albums home last night and scanned a bunch of those photos in this afternoon. I'll probably have them up on facebook tomorrow.
