Tampa - Day Three

*Due to the fact that we couldn't take our phones on the slides, I didn't take any pictures until just before the park closed. So while the crowds were low and we hardly waited at all, it was not as empty as the pictures make it look... 😊

Wednesday was Water Park Day at Adventure Island, and both Bob and Karen came along for the day. We arrived first and staked out a few chaises under an umbrella in the shade by the wave pool for us to sit and lay out our shoes and towels. Funny thing is, Chris and I actually never sat there or used our towels. We didn't wear our shoes much either despite the very hot walkways as most slides didn't let us wear shoes.

Adventure Island was pretty big and had lots of slides and pools and the longest lazy river I'd ever seen!

What I wasn't thinking about it how many stairs you have to climb to get to the tops of all those big tall waterslides. In an 8 hour day, that's a lot of steps!

We went on most all of them multiple times. My favorites were the ones that you rode in tubes.

I went on all of them but one: Vanish Point. It was Chris' favorite! He went so many times! It helped that there really wasn't much of a line since most people chickened out once they got to the top. They shut you inside a little booth, counted down from 3, paused, and then the floor fell out from under you and you dropped 70 feet through the slide. No thanks! But I waited patiently at the end for him to come out... :)

He went a few more times while I walked around and snapped a few last-minute pics...

It was a very fun day! Turns out we really like water parks!

Turns out they also make you really hungry! But there was a fast food Mediterranean place right down the street that had absolutely AMAZING food! 😋

Bob and Karen had to leave early because Bob sold his truck. But they had just finished the sale when we got back. Turns out we were still hungry enough to join them for apps and drinks and dessert while they had dinner.
